THE NEW LACO GMT: TRAdition meets innovation

Pforzheim, April 2019 – Although we often look back at our historic Pilot watches and long tradition with nostalgia and pride, we do not want to shut ourselves off to future trends. Keeping up tradition, in fact, does not mean keeping hold of the ashes but continuously re-igniting the fire.

For this reason, and after many talks at trade shows and events, we have now fulfilled the frequently voiced desire for a Laco GMT model. More precisely, following numerous suggestions our watchmakers have developed 2 models that we have already presented as prototypes at this year's Baselworld in March, with great success.

A real innovation that completes our extensive range of pilot watches with two modern variants. The new GMT models are recreated on the basis of our traditional pilot watches, with the addition of an inner rotating bezel that indicates a second time zone that can be set quickly, precisely and reliably by means of a second crown.

Both models are expected to be available from late autumn at a price of around 1,650 Euro.

Functional elegance

The dark design combines timeless elegance with the technology and the features of a GMT. It has thermally blued hands, an ETA 2893.2 automatic calibre, double-domed sapphire glass and a titanium sandblasted casing.

The two crowns on the watch serve, respectively, to set the inner rotating bezel that indicates the second time zone, and the time.

sporty appearance

The watch face of this variant is tone-on-tone with the casing, which is recreated on the basis of our traditional pilot watches, closing the circle between the past and present. The bursts of orange on the nylon watchstrap create a sporty contrast with the technical design of the watch.

Around the world

The relief on the bottom of the watch casing depicts a plane on a trip around the globe, making also the bottom of our GMTs a real eye-catcher. Finally, GMT models are mostly used by pilots to display the time in two different time zones when they are on intercontinental flights.
